This is a beginner-friendly crochet pattern, that uses only 3 different stitches! Even if you are complete beginner, you will have no trouble following these steps and photos!

I am so excited to share this super easy, beginner-friendly crochet pattern, because it has truly been on of my absolute favorites. I have made tons and tons of these ear warmers for markets, gifts, and also for myself!! The pattern has adjustable sizing to ensure perfect fit, and uses only 3 different crochet stitches!

Trust me when I say that this one will definitely become one of your favorite patterns for all of the reasons above – and – did I mention it only takes 20-30 minutes to make once you get the hang of it?

If you choose wool for your yarn, or at the very least a wool blend like myself, it will also be very warm and keep your ears nice and toasty while you venture out into the outdoors this winter!

Materials & Stitches Needed to Create this Ear Warmer Pattern:

Materials Needed:
- 1 Skein of Super Bulky Yarn (I used the Wool Ease by Lion Brand) by any size 6, bulky yarn will do!
- 6.5 mm crochet hook (A smaller hook is used for super bulky yarn to make sure the ear warmer is nice and thick, and there are no gaps between the stitches)
Stitches Used/Abbreviations (US terms):
- SC – Single crochet
- HDC BLO – Half Double Crochet Back Loop Only
- SL ST – Slip Stitch

Row 1: Ch enough stitches so that when you wrap it around your head and stretch it a bit it reaches (for me it was 37 st).

Row 2: Ch 2, sc in the 3rd ch from the hook, sc across the entire row, ch 2, turn

Row 4: Repeat row 3, 3 more times.

Row 8: Sc blo in the next st (after the ch), repeat across the entire row, at the end leave a long tail and cut your yarn

Ear Warmer Assembly Instructions:

To Assemble:
- First, fold the panel in half, make sure the side that you want to be on the outside is facing outwards
- Then, line up the corner of one side, with the center of the other side, then fold the two flaps over (refer to the photos here).
- Then using a tapestry needle, sew to connect all the folded pieces.
- Sew across the whole folded edge two times.
- Then weave in the ends, and turn the headband right side out.
